Description
On Namito Kominato's first day of high school, he fantasizes about making friends and walking home with a girl. He is seated behind Samidare Kamiyama, a tall, strong, and kind girl who wears a paper bag over her head and is constantly dripping with sweat due to severe social anxiety. Despite her inability to speak comfortably, Namito manages to get her to open up, and the two become fast friends.
The story is set at a Japanese high school where the protagonist and his new friends navigate the challenges of social awkwardness and eccentricity. The main cast includes Namito Kominato, an outgoing and patient boy who acts as the straight man for the group; Samidare Kamiyama, a shy girl whose social anxiety is so intense she hides her face under a paper bag and sweats profusely when nervous; Hinata Arai, the outgoing and helpful class representative who has an alarming obsession with uniforms; and Harusame Amano, a student who can only speak to a cardboard cutout of a magical girl.
Together, they decide to found the Conversation Club to help Kamiyama and other social outcasts participate in high school life. The club needs four members to become official, and with the addition of the eccentric Amano, they meet the requirement.
