The world is divided into two distinct realms: a heavenly realm inhabited by angels and a lower realm consisting of vast wastelands. A group of angels is selected to journey to this dangerous lower realm as envoys from heaven, and for protection they are assigned masked demonic bodyguards. The relationship between the two groups is purely transactional until an angel named Dori gives in to curiosity and peeks beneath a demon guard's mask. What she finds shatters everything she has been taught: demons possess feelings, dreams, desires, and most startling of all, their faces look exactly like those of angels. This discovery forces Dori and her companions to question what truly separates them from the beings they have been ordered not to fraternize with, and what deeper forces might be preventing connection between the two kinds of beings. As the journey into the lower realm progresses, the angels begin to suspect that the greatest danger may not come from the wastelands around them, but from a source much closer to their own group.

The story is driven by Dori, a curious angel whose willingness to question authority sets the plot in motion. The masked demonic bodyguards who accompany the angelic envoy serve as her counterparts, their hidden faces and silent professionalism masking inner lives the angels never imagined. The creator duo Koukoku Brothers, consisting of writer Takenami and illustrator Yoshino, have described the manga as centered on themes of personal growth, exciting adventures, and befriending people from different cultures. The series originated as an independent manga sold at Japanese comic markets such as COMITIA before being licensed for English release. The first English volume is scheduled for digital release in April 2026 through Manga Mavericks Books.
