Thirteen years after Red Day, the day a mysterious disease killed ninety percent of the world's population and turned them into aggressive zombies known as kairi, humanity lives in isolated villages far from the ruins of major cities. For a new generation born after the collapse, the old world is just a story. The manga follows Aki, a girl with no memories of life before Red Day, who leaves her village with her childhood friends Haru and Natsuki on a journey to Tokyo to find her missing father. Before he disappeared years earlier, Aki made a promise to find him and, if he had become a zombie, to dispatch him herself. The trio, all skilled in fighting the undead, soon rescue two fellow survivors, Yuu and Sakura, and establish a base inside a home shopping center. From there, they search for clues about Aki's father, encounter other survivors, and begin to uncover unsettling truths about the nature of the zombies and the world they now inhabit. The story balances survival horror with comedy, though the comedic tone often overshadows the darker elements and character development. The manga was written and illustrated by Katsuwo, serialized in Comic Dengeki Daioh g from June 2022 to November 2023, and collected into three volumes. A television anime adaptation is scheduled for release in 2026.
