A first-year high school student reunites with Masumi, an upperclassman she has admired since middle school. Masumi, who is completely devoted to baseball, invites her to become the manager of the high school baseball team. She had actually decided to step away from baseball in high school in an attempt to get over her unrequited feelings for him, but she finds herself drawn back into that world by his forceful invitation. Masumi seems indifferent to everything outside of the sport, and his actions unconsciously toy with her emotions, sometimes causing her pain. As she struggles with her unreturned feelings, a baseball team member named Shiba Motohiko appears before her. He claims to have known her from middle school and quietly begins to support her, paying attention to her earnest emotions in a way Masumi does not. The story follows this love triangle set within the context of a high school baseball club, focusing on the protagonist's shifting relationships with the devoted Masumi and the observant Motohiko.
