A lonely 43-year-old Japanese salaryman named Haruka Yamagishi awakens one day to find himself in a fantasy world, inhabiting the body of a beautiful and well-developed dark elf. Having lived a life devoid of friends, family, or romance, Haruka is a timid man who long ago gave up on building relationships and expressing himself. While this new world of magic and adventure fills him with excitement, his new existence comes with a significant challenge: he remains a shy, middle-aged man at heart, with no idea how to talk to other people, especially the teenagers and women he now encounters.

Despite his crippling social anxiety, Haruka discovers that his new dark elf body possesses incredible abilities, including a bottomless well of mana and a body as tough as steel. Determined not to let overthinking hold him back in this second chance at life, he slowly works past his fears. He forms an adventuring party with companions who are roughly twice his physical age, and gradually, the man who once gave up on bonding with others begins to open his heart and form deep, precious friendships.
