There is only one Magicraft Meister in the world, a master of magical engineering. Over a thousand years after the death of the previous Meister, a young Japanese engineer named Jin Nidou is summoned to another world to become her successor. After inheriting the vast knowledge and workshop of the late Meister, Adriana, Jin attempts to use a warp gate. However, the gate malfunctions, transporting him not to his intended destination but to an unknown and quiet rural village. At the same time, an automaton he recently restored activates and uses the warp gate to search for her father, her creator.

Jin Nidou was an orphan who grew up in an orphanage, always skilled at handcrafting toys, repairing buildings, and later working as a diligent engineer on Earth. After his sudden and accidental summoning, he finds himself in the laboratory of Adriana Barbora Tzechy, the previous Magicraft Meister. He accepts her will and inherits her abilities, including powerful creation skills such as Transmutation and Analysis. The automaton he revives, who has been searching for a successor for a millennium, is named Reiko. Jin gives her this name, and she comes to view him as her father, becoming his constant and powerful companion.

The setting expands from Adriana's solitary island, rich in minerals and containing a fully equipped workshop, to the wider planet of Ars. The core conflict stems from Jin's displacement and his goal to understand his new world while mastering his inherited powers. A significant narrative arc involves the initial malfunction that strands him in a remote village, where he begins crafting necessary items to survive and help the locals. Another major arc involves the legacy of the previous Magicraft Meister. Jin not only restores Reiko but also creates a family of automata, including Ann, a maid automaton. He establishes Horai Island as his base, creating golems for defense, exploration, and manufacturing, such as the Old Man magic brain that manages the island. Later in the story, Jin encounters space-time dust that forces him into the future, where he discovers a clone of himself has been active, leading to complex developments involving his own legacy and the creation of an entire clan of Jin-based entities. The crafting journey of the new Magicraft Meister involves continuously creating everything he needs, from vehicles and tools to a personal army of golems, as he explores the world and uncovers its secrets.
