Natsuki Suzuki, a serious and diligent office worker, is forced to relocate to Osaka, a city she has never liked ever since her student days. Feeling melancholic and struggling with her new job, her frustration reaches a boiling point. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she has a chance encounter with Himari Itou, a lively local girl from Osaka. During a visit to an izakaya, Natsuki finally unleashes all her pent-up daily frustrations, and Himari witnesses just how sad and overwhelmed she truly is. Rather than being put off, Himari decides to look after Natsuki and makes her a heartfelt promise to become her very first friend in this unfamiliar city. When Natsuki declares her desire to return to Tokyo at all costs, Himari counters with a determined vow to make her fall in love with Osaka instead. The story follows this developing relationship, which soon complicates into a love triangle with the introduction of Ryo Suehiro, a somewhat grumpy and standoffish boy from Kyoto.
