Description
The protagonist is Kururi Helan, a minor noble’s son who discovers he has been reincarnated into the world of an otome game he once played in his previous life. In the game’s original storyline, this background character is destined to fall into ruin alongside the main villainess, ending his days as a poor farmer living in misery. Unfortunately for Kururi, the game provides no explanation of how this minor character ends up on such a disastrous route. Refusing to accept this bleak future, he resolves to change his fate by securing a stable profession. Drawing on his past-life knowledge of the game’s crafting system, he decides to become a blacksmith, believing the trade will provide him with a reliable livelihood and prevent the poverty that awaits him.
The story is set in a fantasy world that blends magic, nobility, and academy life, centered around the prestigious Gensou Academy where the game’s main events take place. After regaining his memories of his past life by hitting his head in a fall from a tree, Kururi immediately begins taking steps to alter his destiny. His first major challenge is his own physical condition. When he seeks apprenticeship under a skilled blacksmith named Donga, he is refused for being too out of shape. In response, Kururi dedicates himself to a strict regimen of exercise and magic training with the help of a woman named Moran. Within a month, he loses his excess weight, becomes notably handsome, and masters the basics of property-change magic while rapidly increasing his mana reserves. After three months of preparation, he finally begins his year-long blacksmithing apprenticeship with Donga, forging high-quality weapons and honing the skills he believes will secure his future.
As Kururi attends the academy, his path crosses with the major characters from the game, each with their own quirks and story roles. These include the villainess Eliza, a competitive prince, a fellow noble’s son who pursues herbology for profit, the pure-hearted heroine of the original game, and even a bipedal talking cat. Kururi also develops combat abilities, excelling in both magic and swordsmanship under various teachers. He acquires a white dragon mount named Poovey and learns to forge sentient weapons, achieving an S-Rank appreciation of blacksmithing that allows him to create arms of exceptional quality. His unique magic includes transformation abilities, elemental spells, and even the creation of artificial rain through advanced incantations. Despite his original status as an insignificant mob character, his proactive efforts begin to draw attention and reshape his relationships with those around him, steadily diverting his path away from the ruin that once seemed inevitable.
