Description
The story follows Hezen Heim, a newly appointed imperial officer who is exiled to the most dangerous frontlines specifically because of his commoner birth. Within an empire where corrupt nobles wield absolute power, this transfer is meant to be a death sentence. However, what his superiors do not know is that Hezen possesses the full memories and magical prowess of the strongest mage from a previous life.

The unit he is assigned to is a cesspool of incompetence and malice, staffed by abusive officers who steal credit for their subordinates work, sadistic soldiers who bully anyone weaker than themselves, and leadership solely focused on self-preservation. Where others would be crushed, Hezen sees an opportunity. Using his overwhelming magical power, tactical genius, and ruthless understanding of military law, he begins a systematic purge. He executes a malicious subordinate legally, completely dismantles a commanding officer with undeniable logic, and forces a peace treaty with an enemy tribe by allying with a prodigy girl named Yang Lin.

Hezen is the unyielding protagonist, an anti-hero driven purely by logic. While outwardly cold and pragmatic, his actions are guided by centuries of experience as a mage, viewing the empires feudal system as an inefficient machine that requires dismantling. Yang Lin is the genius girl who becomes his partner, initially wary but quickly recognizing his immense capability. The corrupt officers serve as his first wave of antagonists, each embodying the rot of the noble class.

The story is structured as a series of satisfying ascents. The Frontier Subjugation Arc establishes the setting as Hezen obliterates the status quo of his penal unit. After his success, the corrupt central nobles cannot execute him for insubordination due to his popularity, so they simply transfer him. This begins a pattern of relocation where each new posting presents a different flavor of institutional decay. The Civil Official Transfer Arc sees him assigned to a barren region managed by lecherous bureaucrats and despairing citizens, forcing him to apply his military efficiency to economic and agricultural recovery.

As the narrative progresses, Hezens conflicts escalate from dealing with petty tyrants to confronting the empires military rivals, such as General Gissar, a genuinely powerful noble from the Diorud Dukedom who proves a more formidable physical opponent. Ultimately, his crusade is not just about local conditions but a direct assault on the empires hierarchy, aiming to tear down the high-ranking nobles in the Sky Palace who view commoners as subhuman. Each volume delivers the same core promise: a powerful, reincarnated mester using any means necessary to make incompetent aristocrats face utter humiliation.
