The legendary great sage Ralph Bordeaux used all of his immense power to seal away the Demon King. As part of his plan, he reincarnates into the world 300 years later, determined to finish the battle. However, his new body is not human or even a living creature. He awakens as a small, shabby, patchwork stuffed animal.

Ralph despairs at this absurd turn of events, believing his second chance at life is over before it starts. His fortunes change when he is found by Tiana, a kindhearted but struggling apprentice mage who is often labeled a failure. Though he is now a plush toy, Ralph retains the vast magical knowledge and experience of a great sage. By harnessing Tiana's magical energy, he is able to use his abilities again. Together, the tiny, 2.5-head-tall teddy bear with a sharp tongue and the gentle apprentice girl form an unconventional team in a high-energy fantasy world.

The story follows this odd pair as they confront various problems in the town of Randahl. After Ralph solves a major incident involving a monster disaster and a territory dispute, he begins to sense a dark conspiracy at work. Their investigation leads them to a troubling rumor about Galford, the son of the Duke of Dranbald. As the conflict escalates, the town is attacked again, and a creature named Ash, the guardian of the Forest of Wargs, is corrupted by a demon king drug after falling victim to Galfords scheme. Even Ralph begins to despair, believing Ash cannot be saved, but Tianas pure determination to rescue her friend triggers a miracle. The story ultimately concludes with this odd group of companions facing the final challenges together.
