Shy, mousy Sakura Akutsu finds it difficult to speak in public, confining her creative adventures to the pages of her notebook. Her quiet world is upended when brash, outgoing transfer student Tsubame Hiiragi discovers the notebook. Instead of mocking her, Tsubame secretly reads Sakura’s stories, and the two begin sharing them. When their secret becomes too big to keep, Tsubame whisks Sakura away on a new adventure: starting their very own drama club, where Tsubame will become the voice for Sakura’s words on stage.

The story takes place in a contemporary Japanese high school setting.
