Among the orc race, whose members are typically driven by base instincts like lust and gluttony, a mutant individual named Ruth is born with the rare ability to consciously control his carnal desires using rational thought. One day, he discovers a book among the belongings of a human that his fellow orcs have abducted. This book outlines the code of conduct for a gentleman, emphasizing kindness toward women and children and the rejection of evil deeds. Deeply impressed, Ruth decides to embark on a journey to become a true gentleman. However, the book contains a duality he does not fully grasp; alongside instructions for becoming a respectable, gentle man who helps those in need, it also describes the ways of a lecherous gentleman, one who engages in immoral and salacious acts under the cover of night. Mistaking these contradictory lessons as two sides of the same ideal, Ruth adopts both as his guides. This misinterpretation sets him on a path where he aims to be a soft-spoken, kind-hearted gentleman by day, while awakening as a perverted gentleman by night, leading him to entangle women of various races in his unchecked libido. The story follows Ruth after he leaves the orc nest, with a notable early arc beginning when he encounters a young elf girl who has strayed from her group, triggering his literal and misguided awakening into the role of a gentleman.
