Description
Five years before the story begins, mysterious dungeons suddenly appeared in the world. These spaces operate outside normal laws, making them impenetrable to police or military forces. Only individuals aged fifteen and older may enter of their own free will, and within these dungeons, people can grow stronger, level up, acquire fantastical items, and sometimes undergo dramatic physical transformations that grant them extraordinary beauty.
Yuuta Rokujou has been bullied continuously since kindergarten, a traumatic past that has shaped his entire worldview. When he turns fifteen, rather than follow his peers to Dungeon High School the institution most young people attend to learn how to tackle these dangerous spaces together he makes a different choice. He decides to enter a dungeon alone on his birthday, seeking a path forward that does not require him to face the social environments that have caused him so much pain. What follows is the account of how Yuuta, starting from this solitary and desperate decision, grows stronger than anyone else and eventually rises to become one of the twelve most powerful individuals in the world, figures known as the Twelve Heroes who possess the ability to influence the fate of the planet itself.
The narrative follows Yuuta as he navigates dungeon floors, battles monsters, and unlocks his potential, while also exploring how his bullying background and social isolation shape his approach to combat and trust. Early chapters establish the dungeon mechanics and the protagonist's initial struggles, while hinting at a romantic subplot and deeper worldbuilding that distinguishes the series from similar dungeon-crawling stories. As Yuuta gains power, the series expands to address his growing reputation, the appearance of other powerful dungeon challengers, and the gradual revelation of what it truly means to become one of the Twelve Heroes capable of changing the world.
