Description
Yutaka Shinso is a timid human boy constantly worried about what others think of him. Hoping to turn over a new leaf, he transfers to Keiki Private High School, only to discover that vampires, ogres, and all manner of supernatural beings walk its halls. He becomes particularly drawn to Tsumiki Ogami, a confident and popular werewolf girl who seems to live without the insecurities that plague him.

The story follows Yutaka as he decides he wants to become as self-assured as Tsumiki. She vows to help him come out of his shell, but Yutaka soon finds himself overwhelmed by her wild werewolf lifestyle, which includes jumping out of windows, climbing mountains, and burying sandwiches to snack on later. The series chronicles his gradual struggle to overcome his anxieties and adapt to a world where human and mythfolk students coexist.

Yutaka Shinso serves as the protagonist and primary point of view character. His arc involves learning social confidence and accepting help from those around him. Tsumiki Ogami is the energetic, free-spirited werewolf whose unusual habits and unwavering self-confidence both inspire and intimidate her human friend. The supporting cast includes Mirei Hebizono, a medusa whose snake companions must shield her eyes to prevent petrifying others, and Tomoe Mokuri, a spider-like mythfolk artist with a painful past involving cyberbullying. Other mythfolk students include a Pescian and a unicorn who declare themselves Tsumiki's rivals.

The narrative arcs progress through Yutaka's adjustment to his new school. Early chapters establish the premise as Yutaka learns to navigate Tsumiki's chaotic world. A sports festival arc introduces rivals and brings someone from Yutaka's past back to threaten his growing confidence. A summer vacation arc finds Yutaka worrying that his new friends will forget him, leading Tsumiki to offer simple but challenging advice: just ask to hang out. The cultural festival arc shifts focus to supporting characters, as Tsumiki's class hosts a cosplay cafe while Mirei confronts her fear of turning others to stone and Mokuri faces the online harassment that made her abandon her art. The series continues to explore how mythfolk navigate everyday challenges alongside their human classmates.
