Description
In the world of Reas Love, a spin-off otome game, the villainess Charlotte Cocoriara faces her destined ruin when the prince of the Farblume Kingdom abruptly breaks off their engagement. The prince claims her job as a Dark Mage is unfit for a future queen, preferring to be with a Healer instead. In this world, job changes are supposedly impossible. However, Charlotte holds a secret: she has regained memories of her past life playing Reas Life Online, the original MMORPG upon which the otome game is based. Armed with cheat knowledge that no one else in the Reas Love world possesses, she happily accepts her exile and immediately sets out for the Sacred Land of Erenzi, where she uses her hidden knowledge to successfully change her job to a Healer. Now free from noble constraints, her true desire is not to win back the prince but to explore the world and live a life of adventure.
The setting spans the fantasy kingdom of Farblume and the surrounding lands, including the Sacred Land of Erenzi. The narrative blends the tropes of otome games with the mechanics of MMORPGs, as the protagonist can see status screens, levels, and clearly defined jobs like Healer or Dark Mage. Charlotte, the daughter of a duke, is the protagonist who renames herself Sharon as she embarks on her adventuring career. Key characters from the original game narrative include her former fiancé, the prince, and the commoner heroine he favors, who is portrayed as a generic and selfish character. As Charlotte begins her new life, she joins a party of rookie adventurers and eventually becomes the healer for the Hero's party, forging bonds with its colorful members. She also encounters characters like her sister Torte and a new friend also named Sharon, as well as Tarte, who becomes her apprentice with dreams of becoming a fighting alchemist. A significant figure in the world is her Holiness Tithia, the Pope of Erenzi.
The story unfolds across several narrative arcs. After breaking her engagement and changing her job, Charlotte begins her life as a solo adventurer. Using her game knowledge, she finds hidden paths and dungeons, including the Paradise of Erungoa, for the Hero's party. A major early arc involves saving her companion Tarte, which requires the Hero's party to obtain a legendary herb from Torte's village; the mission forces Charlotte to seek help from an unexpected source. As she grows stronger, Charlotte is thrown into a political conspiracy in the shadows of Erenzi, a sinister plot to dethrone the Pope. This conflict culminates in her rescuing Pope Tithia and restoring peace to the Sacred Land, earning her the title of Holy Maiden. Having completed this quest, she is ready to unlock a new adventure with a mysterious key when a letter from her brother arrives announcing that her exile has been lifted. This propels her on a journey back home to reunite with her family, which leads her to old friends, new dungeons, and potentially a final confrontation with her former fiancé, the prince. Throughout her journey, Charlotte must continually remind herself that this world is not a game, as one serious mistake could cost someone their life.
