In a world where natural disasters are not random acts of nature but the physical manifestation of malevolent supernatural entities, humanity faces an existential threat. These catastrophes, known as Nights, have plagued the Earth since ancient times, and the only ones capable of combating them are the Fugeki, shamans who perform sacred dances to channel the spectro-magnetic energy of the gods to exorcise these calamities. The story follows two young men bound by fate. Jin is a boy living a quiet life in the Japanese countryside, while Gao is a brigadier general of the British Empire who was forced to flee his homeland after a massive typhoon Night named Catherine destroyed his nation and killed his mother. Gao’s escape to Japan ended in tragedy when his ship crashed, resulting in the death of Jin’s mother.

Despite this painful beginning, the two live together in a rural town with their companions, trying to maintain a peaceful existence. However, they are secretly holy warriors on the frontlines of a hidden war against Armageddon. Joining them are Micaiah, a major in the British army and Gao’s loyal subordinate, and Natsu and Fuyu Misasagi, a unique pair of conjoined twins who serve as shrine maidens wielding esoteric powers. Together, they must learn to combine ancient rites with a futuristic setting, utilizing airships and psychomagnetic dynamics to invoke the power of the gods through dance to quell the wrath of the Nights and save the world from ruin.

The narrative begins with a tragic prologue that ties Jin and Gao’s fates together through the death of Jin’s mother. It then transitions into their daily lives in a town surrounded by nature, where the team enjoys halcyon days until a new Night threatens their sanctuary. As the plot progresses, the characters must confront their past traumas. The narrative structure weaves flashbacks and high-stakes battles, while also incorporating high school elements reminiscent of games like Persona, before escalating into a desperate struggle to push back the despair brought by the Nights.
