Description
In a shadowy corner of the city, a strange and elusive figure known as Alucard operates a "life counseling office" that appears only to those who desperately need it. He possesses supernatural abilities and claims he can grant any wish, but his price is always the same: a piece of the supplicant's flesh. This unsettling transaction drives each encounter, drawing visitors into a web of horror, desire, and moral compromise. The volume titled Ryōki Densetsu Alucard: Shikkoku no Shinjitsu-hen serves as a direct sequel to the earlier Alucard series, expanding the mythology of its enigmatic protagonist. Alucard himself is not the invincible being he once seemed; the passage of time has begun to take its toll, and even he is vulnerable to the slow decay of age. This vulnerability forces him to confront his own origins and the hidden truths behind his existence. The narrative weaves together four core stories, each exploring different facets of Alucard's past and his relationships with key figures such as the adult Mina, a young version of Alucard himself, and a character named Renfield. Through these episodes, the manga gradually peels back the layers of mystery surrounding Alucard's identity, revealing a tragic and sorrowful backstory that links him to events and people long thought lost. The setting remains a bleak, supernatural version of the modern world, where the line between human desperation and inhuman bargains blurs. The tone is dark and eerie, emphasizing psychological horror and the grotesque consequences of making deals with a being who demands flesh as payment. Notable narrative arcs in this volume delve into the consequences of Alucard's age, the introduction of characters who shed light on his hidden past, and the deepening of the world established in the earlier series. Each story stands alone while also contributing to a larger, interconnected lore that explores themes of immortality, sacrifice, and the price of truth.
