In a world where many different species coexist, a young man named Takahashi inherits his father’s youkai-exclusive apartment complex after his father passes away. Among the residents is a shy snow woman, or yuki-onna, named Yukino. Takahashi becomes instantly attracted to her, and they initially get along, but an argument soon drives them apart. While trying to figure out how to mend their relationship, Takahashi discovers a mysterious box containing a strange ring. The ring’s description claims that by directing one’s desires at a youkai in view of the ring, the wearer can control that youkai’s mind. Skeptical at first, Takahashi tests the ring during a desperate attempt to talk to Yukino and witnesses its power. Armed with this ability, he faces a moral dilemma: use the ring to restore his bond with Yukino or give in to his more primitive urges. As the story unfolds, the ring’s curse forces the pair into intensely close, provocative, and emotionally complicated situations, blurring the line between genuine affection and supernatural influence. Their relationship gradually evolves into an unconventional and clumsy love story, where real feelings and the ring’s control constantly clash. Later, a second youkai, the horned Kaede Kiryuin, becomes involved, further complicating matters as she attempts to seduce Takahashi in hopes of removing the ring’s curse. Through these encounters, Takahashi and Yukino learn to navigate trust, consent, and authentic connection in a setting where supernatural forces and personal desires intertwine.
