Description
A mild-mannered real estate agent still nursing a broken heart, Hiromi Komori, finds his orderly life disrupted when Michiru Sakai, a foul-mouthed twenty-year-old aspiring mangaka who has run away from home, walks into his office demanding an apartment under impossible conditions. After a heated argument in which Hiromi sarcastically suggests she could pay the landlord with her body or move into his own spare room, Michiru storms off—only to return days later. Having been turned away by every other agency, she blackmails Hiromi into letting her stay in his apartment rent-free, fabricating evidence to ensure his compliance. Thus begins their forced cohabitation, which quickly becomes a recurring series of erotic showdowns governed by a simple rule: the first person to become sexually aroused loses. The loser must obey the winner’s commands, setting the stage for a tense, absurd, and increasingly intimate battle of wills.
Hiromi is a doormat of a man, still hung up on his previous relationship and initially just hoping to get Michiru out of his home. Michiru, who uses the pen name Sakamichiru for her work, is abrasive, arrogant, and fiercely competitive, but also driven to succeed as a mangaka and hiding vulnerabilities beneath her aggressive exterior. Their clashes take place in the everyday setting of Hiromi’s apartment, where the line between conflict and attraction blurs.
Notable narrative arcs include the early weeks of their arrangement, where they establish the weekly game as a means of settling disputes; the introduction of Michiru’s editor, Ishii, who becomes an unwitting witness to their antics; a visit from Hiromi’s parents that forces the pair to confront how their relationship looks to outsiders; and the arrival of a female assistant named Hanya, who participates in the games and adds a new dynamic to the household. Over time, the purely transactional nature of their cohabitation gives way to genuine emotional entanglement, with both characters showing signs of jealousy, protectiveness, and growing affection. The story balances explicit erotic content with broad comedy, as the characters treat their games with deadpan seriousness while the situations themselves are deliberately ridiculous. The title itself is a wordplay on the phrase for “easy victory” and the concept of lodging, underscoring the ongoing power struggle at the heart of the series.
