Description
Abandoned by his parents and subjected to relentless bullying throughout high school, the solitary teenager Mikazuki Kenya finds his only refuge in the virtual reality world of the globally popular mecha combat game Knight of the Giant, or KOG. In the game's narrative-driven mode, he becomes deeply attached to two heroines: Kaguya, a fiery and passionate girl from the conquered nation of Yamato who fights with a resistance movement, and Reina, a cool and composed princess from the ruling Earthgards Empire. The time spent with them becomes his sole source of emotional salvation, and he falls sincerely in love with both. However, the game's script contains a cruel fixed point: at a pivotal moment early in the story, one of the two heroines is fated to die, and no matter which route the player chooses, the other is lost. Refusing to accept this outcome, Kenya dedicates his entire life to mastering KOG, pushing his reflexes and tactical knowledge to the absolute limit in an obsessive quest to uncover a hidden route where both can survive. After countless attempts, he finally achieves an impossible victory against a scripted defeat event, clearing a hopeless battle against overwhelming odds. This achievement unlocks a new route, and at that moment, he is abruptly transported into the world of KOG itself. Finding himself inside the very game he knows intimately, Kenya enrolls at the Special District Colony 13 Knight Training School, determined to use his encyclopedic knowledge of the plot and his god-like piloting skills to rewrite fate. The central conflict of the story revolves around the arrival of the dreaded lose event, a battle where he must single-handedly defeat a hundred enemy mechs to prevent the chain of events that leads to a heroine's death. By successfully overturning this unwinnable scenario, he sets the story on an entirely new course, forcing the world to react to a player who refuses to follow the predetermined script. The narrative explores his relationship with both heroines as he navigates a world of imperial oppression, resistance movements, political intrigue, and large-scale mecha warfare, all while racing against the original story's tragic deadlines.
