Description
Sana, the daughter of a humble tool shop on the edge of a castle town in the kingdom of Escadore, spends her days gathering medicinal herbs in the forest to brew the healing potions her family sells. During one of these routine trips, she stumbles upon a mysterious book—a comprehensive strategy guide that details every event, character, and hidden mechanic of the very world she inhabits. What she initially takes for a curious oddity quickly reveals itself to be a dangerous piece of forbidden knowledge: the book outlines a future full of tragedy, betrayal, and catastrophe, and Sana realizes she is the only one aware of what is to come.
Armed with this foreknowledge but possessing no extraordinary combat skills or magical talent, Sana is an ordinary girl thrust into an extraordinary role. She begins trying to nudge events in a better direction, hoping to spare the people around her from the grim fates the guide describes. Her well-intentioned interference, however, starts to unravel the original storyline in unpredictable ways. She encounters Prince Merioros, the kingdom's second prince who initially sees her as a nuisance and eventually has her branded a wanted fugitive. She also crosses paths with Tsubasa, the hero destined to save the world according to the guide, and tries to support him without altering the plot too much—a balance she struggles to maintain as her actions ripple outward.
The story is set in a classic fantasy realm of medieval towns, enchanted forests, and monster-infested territories, rendered in full color. Sana's brother, who uses a prosthetic leg, is a quiet but important figure in her life. As the narrative progresses, Sana's attempts to use the guide lead her into a series of escalating predicaments: she is mistaken for an imperial spy at a royal ball, forced into a monster-hunting expedition alongside the hostile prince, and drawn into the hero's quest in ways that blur the line between background character and central protagonist. The guide itself becomes both her greatest asset and her heaviest burden, as changing one event often creates unforeseen consequences elsewhere, and the deeper she reads, the more she realizes that the ultimate fate of her world may hinge on choices she never wanted to make.
