Raised from childhood as an assassin by the underground organization known as the Blood Clan, Karin Kirisaki has known nothing but killing. During a routine assignment to eliminate a female manga artist, she happens to read the target’s serialized work, TokiMero—a sugary slice-of-life school romance. The story overwhelms her with a powerful longing for an ordinary teenage life. On the spot, she abandons her career as a killer, enrolls in high school, and begins living the peaceful student days she has always craved, even taking up doujinshi creation under the pen name Ayanokouji Ruruka. But the Blood Clan does not forgive defectors. Assassins are dispatched to silence her, among them a nameless hitman who initially approaches Karin to kill her. After he too reads TokiMero and witnesses Karin’s determination, he abandons his mission and is given the name Kazuya Takanashi by Karin. Kazuya later reveals that he is actually an assassin eliminator working for the Public Safety Bureau, tasked with neutralizing rogue killers. Despite their efforts to carve out a normal existence, the Blood Clan continues to send operatives—including a high-ranking executive who storms the school in broad daylight. As the story progresses, Karin and Kazuya join the student council, only to discover that its president and officers are members of another powerful assassination syndicate, the Heart Wolf Society, who view the two former killers as dangerous elements to be expelled from the school. The series builds to a climax where both organizations converge on the campus, forcing Karin and Kazuya to fight for the ordinary life they have come to cherish. The narrative concludes after three volumes, with the characters resolving the threats from the Blood Clan and the Heart Wolf Society while holding onto their newfound bonds and the simple joy of a peaceful school life.
