Description
Over a hundred years have passed since the appearance of Ability Users—people who wield supernatural powers—and the simultaneous emergence of grotesque monsters that can only be defeated by those same abilities. Modern weapons are useless against these creatures, so the strength of one’s ability, measured in a numeric score, has come to determine social status, reputation, and even basic respect. Society has become a numbers-obsessed hierarchy where higher scores mean privilege and lower scores invite contempt.

In this world lives Yanagi Hayato, a young man whose measured ability score is zero. Because of that number, he is treated as a powerless nobody, bullied at school, and dismissed by everyone around him. His daily life is one of constant oppression and degradation. Yet the truth is far different. Hayato’s score is not accurate—it is a bug caused by his true ability, Transcendent, which allows him to sublimate himself into any existence. In reality, he possesses the power to easily crush the very monsters that terrorize humanity. Even more, he can tap into the authorities of various gods, manifesting divine abilities such as the War God and Take-Mikazuchi, granting him overwhelming combat prowess that far exceeds any normal Ability User.

Everything changes when his younger sister becomes socially isolated because of his perceived weakness. Determined to protect her, Hayato decides to stop hiding his power and joins the Special Countermeasure Unit, an organization dedicated to fighting monsters. There he meets allies and superiors, including the formidable officer Kongo, who recognizes Hayato’s true potential. As Hayato begins undertaking missions, his hidden strength is gradually revealed.

In his first major mission, Hayato and his partner Suzuna are sent into a labyrinth. The exploration seems routine until they are suddenly transported to an alien world ruled by an S-rank monster with extraordinary regenerative abilities. Even summoning the War God proves insufficient. At the brink of defeat, Hayato awakens a new divine power, allowing him to overcome the threat.

Later, he is assigned to escort Takamiya Runa, a girl with a rare and valuable ability, to a secure facility while undercover as a servant in her family’s estate. During the mission, four S-rank monsters—creatures that should never appear together—attack simultaneously in an apparent plot to capture Runa. Hayato responds by manifesting another new authority, Take-Mikazuchi, obliterating all four in an instant. The display of such force finally brings his true capabilities to the attention of the world’s power brokers. The upper echelons of the Special Countermeasure Unit begin scheming to exploit his strength for their own ends. To counter this, Kongo advises Hayato to enter the upcoming global tournament of Ability Users, where even the so-called Absolute Ones participate. Winning that tournament would allow Hayato to claim the title of Absolute himself and secure his independence.

Armed with the ability to manipulate the powers of the gods, Hayato steps onto the world stage, no longer content to be despised as a zero. His journey is one of hidden strength revealed, family protection, and rising against a corrupt hierarchy that judges people by numbers alone. The narrative weaves through dungeon exploration, high-stakes escort missions, the politics of ability-based society, and the relentless escalation of divine powers as Hayato unlocks more authorities to face ever-greater threats.
