A young woman named Kisaragi Chiyo is offered as a living sacrifice to a raging dragon god, a ritual meant to appease the deity. Orphaned and mistreated by her uncle's family, Chiyo accepts her fate willingly, driven by a single desperate wish: to protect her younger brother from a similar cruel destiny. She hides a poison capable of sealing the god's power, believing that if the dragon god eats her along with the poison, the god will be contained and her brother will be safe.
