The teacher Meisuke Nueno, known to everyone as Nube, still serves as the homeroom instructor for Class 5-3 at Domori Elementary School. The town of Domori remains a place where the boundary between the human world and the spirit world is thin, and supernatural disturbances are a daily occurrence. Nube, a kind-hearted and slightly goofy educator, carries a powerful demon sealed in his left hand, which he uses to protect his students from the malevolent spirits and yokai that threaten them.

This series is a spin-off that returns to the original timeline of the classic story, placing its events shortly after the twelfth volume of the original manga. It collects seven previously untold episodes that the familiar cast experienced during their time at Domori Elementary. The core group of students is present: Hiroshi Tateno, the hot-headed transfer student who often falls under supernatural influence; Kyouko Inaba, the class representative with a strong interest in the occult; and Miki Hosokawa, the energetic and fashionable girl. Other recurring students such as Makoto Kurita, Katsuya Kimura, Ritsuko Takahashi, and Yuki Oo also appear. From the spirit world, the snow woman Yukime continues to pursue her love for Nube, and the powerful fox spirit Kyousuke Tamamo remains a complex figure who sometimes acts as an ally and sometimes as a threat.

The seven chapters cover a range of supernatural encounters. In one story, the students encounter a strange incident linked to a river spirit known as Messan. Another tale involves twin ghost children playing a dangerous game of jump rope. A more modern horror appears when a nightmare-inducing AI image generator begins terrorizing the students. Yukime gets her own focus in a story about her search for a destined person. A lightning-wielding old hag spirit makes an appearance, and a story about an unusually intelligent crow poses a unique challenge for the class. The final chapter closes the collection with a look toward the future of the characters. These episodes do not form a single overarching plot but instead serve as a collection of missing moments from the original series, offering fans additional context and character interactions set in the familiar world of Domori.
