In the year 2006, being an otaku meant hiding who you were. The social climate was hostile toward anyone with deep interests in anime, manga, or gaming, and those who loved those things learned to keep their passions secret. One man who endured that era, known as the Otaku Ice Age, finds himself given a second chance. Through time travel, he returns to his high school days in 2006, determined to reclaim the青春 he never truly had and to win the heart of the girl he could only admire from afar, his first love named Hinata.

The protagonist, Wada, was an otaku who spent his youth in hiding, never able to express himself openly or pursue the relationships he wanted. When he unexpectedly gains the ability to time leap back to his teenage years, he seizes the opportunity to rewrite his personal history. He begins to experience the kind of school life he always dreamed of spending time with Hinata, enjoying summer festivals with friends, going to the beach, visiting maid cafes, and participating in cultural festivals. But as he repeatedly uses his time travel ability, he discovers that his actions have consequences that ripple through multiple timelines.

The story is set in the mid-2000s, a period rich with the culture of early internet forums, physical doujinshi conventions, and the raw, unfiltered enthusiasm of a subculture still operating on the fringes of mainstream society. The narrative unfolds across several time leaps, with Wada gradually learning that changing the past is not as simple as he hoped. His early attempts seem to go well, but each return to the present reveals unexpected and often painful outcomes. In one timeline, he successfully confesses to Hinata only to return to a present where she has died. In another, his interference creates a world where she does not exist at all, and even his own memories of her begin to fade.

As the story progresses, Wada discovers he is not the only time traveler. Another person, Sahata, is also leaping through time with his own motivations, and the two become rivals whose conflicting goals threaten to tear apart the fabric of their shared past. Wada must navigate not only the delicate task of saving Hinata but also the growing realization that true happiness may not lie in forcing a perfect outcome. The series explores the tension between wanting to reclaim a lost youth and accepting that some things cannot be undone, as well as the deeper question of what it truly means to be an otaku in a world that slowly becomes more accepting.

Throughout the narrative, Wada is joined by former classmates who become allies in his mission, and together they attempt to devise a plan that can save Hinata while also preserving the bonds they formed across different timelines. The story builds toward a final confrontation with Sahata and a reckoning with the nature of time travel itself, asking whether the desire to change the past is ultimately about love, regret, or the fear of growing up.
