Description
After school, two high-school girls meet in secret. One is Nanba Rinon, the popular class madonna. The other is the quiet, introverted Furutsuji. Rinon confides that her father abuses her at home. She describes the violence in detail, not because she wants help, but because she craves the feeling of self-pity. Furutsuji listens with apparent sympathy, offering gentle comfort. Yet behind her calm smile lurks a cold awareness: she knows Rinon is lying or hiding something deeper.

Their after‑school conversations become a ritual. Rinon boasts of her unhappiness; Furutsuji pushes and wounds her in return. This twisted exchange becomes a shared escape from their ordinary lives, a small, enclosed world built on mutual exploitation. As the story unfolds, the relationship intensifies beyond simple manipulation. Furutsuji starts investigating Rinon’s past, trying to uncover the truth about her childhood. In doing so, she provokes Rinon’s anger and is met with silent treatment. Meanwhile, a man named Saeki, who works at Rinon’s part‑time job, notices Furutsuji’s interest. Through a careless moment, Saeki sees what Furutsuji has been searching for on her phone. His meddling sets off a chain of events that drags both girls into a dangerous situation. Saeki’s malice threatens Rinon and her friends, and Furutsuji is forced to use her own position to take drastic action to protect them.

After the conflict with Saeki is resolved, Furutsuji begins to integrate into Rinon’s circle of friends. Yet Rinon feels uneasy: she valued their “special after‑school relationship” and fears losing that exclusive bond. The story then reveals more of Rinon’s past, showing how she was repeatedly manipulated by adults. The girls’ fragile, codependent connection expands into their daily lives, with uncertain consequences for their futures. The narrative explores themes of psychological coercion, trauma, and the blurred line between victim and abuser.
