Noda Makoto is an unremarkable high school Japanese language teacher whose classroom has fallen into complete chaos. His students openly mock him, and he lacks any authority among his colleagues. One day, a misunderstanding leads a physical education teacher to slap him, causing Noda to fall and strike his head on the corner of a desk, losing consciousness. When he awakens, a mysterious translucent window appears before his eyes, displaying a quest. Upon completing it, he discovers that his real-world abilities improve numerically, and he gains access to special items and skills. This game-like system allows him to see student distress indicators, acquire supernatural tools, and unlock new powers through quest progression.

Armed with these abilities, Noda begins working to resolve the deep-seated problems plaguing his students. The first major arc involves a girl from a desperately poor family, Tsukumo Yūki, who works part-time jobs to support herself while her mother wastes money on mobile games. The only adult she trusts is her store manager, who hides predatory intentions beneath a kind facade. Noda must use his growing powers to protect her from sexual exploitation. In the next arc, he turns his attention to a female student, Kimeda Taka, who is obsessively devoted to an idol and secretly dreams of debuting herself. She gets a chance to audition for a producer but ends up in a dangerous situation. Noda gains an awakening bonus that lets him sense human hearts directly, allowing him to intervene. Later, he confronts a case involving a bullying student, Inohara Sōichirō, whose parents have fallen into a new religious cult. The family's bizarre nightly rituals and the cult's hold over them drive the student to run away from home, and the cult's enforcers pursue him. Noda receives a quest reward in the form of wings growing from his back, which he must use to rescue the boy.

The final narrative arc revolves around the student who orchestrated the school's collapse from behind the scenes, Kimizuka Daiken. He is responsible for ruining the school's reputation and orchestrating slander campaigns against a fellow teacher, Iori. When Noda confronts him, Kimizuka reveals no clear motive, no emotion, and no real objective. He is a hollow person with nothing inside. With all of his accumulated abilities fully unleashed, Noda faces the most difficult salvation of all and must find a way to reach a student who feels nothing at all. The manga concludes with Noda confronting Kimizuka directly using his full powers, treating him seriously as a teacher despite the student's emptiness, and bringing the salvation quests to a close.
