Description
"Today's Cerberus" is a supernatural romantic comedy manga that blends mythology with modern-day life. The story centers on Koushi Nagumo, a high school student who accidentally breaks a seal while visiting a shrine, releasing a mysterious girl named Chibi. Chibi is revealed to be one of the three forms of Cerberus, the mythical three-headed guardian of the underworld. However, instead of a monstrous creature, Cerberus manifests as three distinct girls: Chibi, the cheerful and childlike form; Kuro, the serious and protective form; and Shirogane, the mature and elegant form. Each form represents a different aspect of Cerberus's personality, and they share a single body, taking turns to appear in the human world.

Koushi becomes entangled with the trio as they explain that breaking the seal has bound him to them. To undo the curse, he must fulfill a series of tasks, including helping them adapt to human life. The narrative explores the dynamics between Koushi and the three forms of Cerberus as they navigate everyday challenges, school life, and their growing bond. Chibi’s playful and innocent nature often leads to comedic situations, while Kuro’s protective instincts and Shirogane’s calm demeanor provide balance to the group. Over time, romantic tensions emerge, particularly as Koushi grows closer to each of the girls, complicating their relationship.

The manga incorporates elements of Greek mythology, reimagining Cerberus in a lighthearted and contemporary setting. The story balances humor, romance, and supernatural elements, with occasional dramatic moments as the characters confront their shared destiny and the consequences of the broken seal. The interactions between Koushi and the three forms of Cerberus drive the plot, with each girl’s unique personality contributing to the series’ charm and comedic appeal. The narrative also delves into themes of identity, coexistence, and the challenges of balancing multiple relationships, all while maintaining a focus on the central premise of the curse and the tasks required to break it.
