Tsubasa Otomiya
Description
Tsubasa Otomiya was a Japanese voice actress born on June 20, 1978, in Tokyo, Japan. She was active in the voice acting industry from 1998 to around 2014. Before her career as a voice actress, she also worked as a model under the name TSUBASA.
Otomiya is known for several prominent anime roles in the early 2000s. Her first major role was Himiko Himejima in the 1999 television series Legend of Himiko. She also voiced Miya Higashikazuno in the 2005 series Koi Koi Seven.
She is particularly associated with the Lime-iro Senkitan franchise, where she played the character Sarasa Honda. This included the 2003 television series Raimuiro Senkitan and its 2004 original video animation sequel, Raimuiro Senkitan: The South Island Dream Romantic Adventure. For this role, she was also a member of the voice actress unit Raimu-tai, which performed theme songs for the series. Her work on this series extended to releasing a character album, Sarasa Honda, in May 2003, which featured image songs for the character.
Another significant collaboration was with creator Satoru Akahori, for whom she voiced the character Yoku Hokke in two connected 2005 television series: Soreyuke! Gedou Otometai and Akahori Gedou Hour Rabuge. She was also part of the voice actress unit Gedou Otometai for these shows.
Beyond acting, Otomiya had other artistic pursuits. She was an illustrator and contributed artwork to the trading card game Aquarian Age. For a time, she was a member of the comedy quartet T-KY'S with fellow voice actors from Lime-iro Senkitan. After retiring from voice acting, she began working as a paint artist under the name Maya Mekira.
