Mahiro Takasugi

Description
Mahiro Takasugi is a Japanese actor and voice actor born on July 4, 1996, in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. He began his entertainment career after being scouted at a fireworks festival during elementary school and made his formal debut in a 2009 stage production. Takasugi is primarily known for his extensive work in live-action television and film, but he has also taken on notable roles in anime voice acting.

Takasugi made his voice acting debut in 2018, providing the voice for the character Haruki Shiga, also known as "Me," in the critically acclaimed animated film I Want to Eat Your Pancreas. His performance as the introverted high school student who forms a bond with a terminally ill classmate marked his entry into the field of anime voice work.

In 2021, he expanded his voice acting portfolio with roles in two television anime series. He voiced the character Akihisa Fukui, the captain of the water polo team at Rikka Academy, in the original MAPPA television anime RE-MAIN. That same year, he also lent his voice to the role of Satoshi Nagashima in the anime series Odd Taxi.

Beyond these roles, Takasugi's filmography includes other voice acting credits, such as the role of Shun Namita in the Animation x Paralympic project in 2017. His career achievements are predominantly in live-action acting, where he has received awards including the 36th Yokohama Film Festival Best Newcomer Award in 2015 and the 72nd Mainichi Film Award for Best New Actor in 2018 for his work in films like The World of Kanako and Before We Vanish. While he has taken on several significant voice roles, his body of work as a voice actor is a smaller part of his overall career as an actor.
