Gabriel Ramos

Description
Gabriel Ramos is a Mexican voice actor, television host, and YouTuber, born on September 18, 1986, in Mexico City. He is widely recognized for his extensive work in Latin American Spanish dubbing, particularly for his long-running portrayal of Ash Ketchum in the Pokémon anime franchise. He is the younger brother of fellow voice actor Ana Lucía Ramos.

Ramos began his career in voice acting at the age of seven in 1993, after accompanying his sister to a recording studio. His talent was soon noticed, leading to small roles and formal training in voice and diction. He is also known for his work as a VJ for MTV Latin America, a role he held from 2003 to 2012, which required him to relocate to Argentina for several years.

Ramos's most iconic role is that of Ash Ketchum in the Pokémon anime, a character he voiced for twelve years. He provided the voice for Ash across numerous seasons and films, including Pokémon Heroes - Latias & Latios, Pokémon 4Ever, Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea, and Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai [citation:4, citation:6, citation:9, citation:10]. His portrayal continued through the Diamond and Pearl series, although his relocation to Argentina created logistical challenges for recording. He was eventually replaced in the role due to these difficulties but has since returned to voice alternate versions of the character in later series, such as an Ash from another dimension in Pokémon Journeys [citation:2, citation:10].

Beyond Pokémon, Ramos has a diverse filmography. He voiced the titular character Remi in the redub of the classic anime Nobody's Boy Remi (also known as Ie Naki Ko) and its 1977 series [citation:1, citation:3, citation:7]. He is also known for his role as Ard Meteor, the reincarnated demon lord Varvatos, in the series The Greatest Demon Lord is Reborn as a Typical Nobody [citation:1, citation:2]. Other notable anime roles include MegaMan in MegaMan NT Warrior, Ippo Makunouchi in Fighting Spirit, and Seiji Hayami in Re: Cutie Honey [citation:1, citation:8]. He has also lent his voice to characters in Dragon Ball, Inuyasha: The Final Act, and Yu-Gi-Oh!.

In addition to anime, Ramos has voiced numerous characters in Western animated series and films. He is known for being the voice of Gerald Martin Johanssen in Hey Arnold!, Wander in Wander Over Yonder (for its Argentinean dub), and Howard Weinerman in Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja. He has also played Warren Worthington III / Angel in the live-action X-Men films X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: Apocalypse, and was the third voice of Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter film series for Latin America.

Throughout his career, Ramos has collaborated with various other prominent voice actors, such as Miguel Ángel Leal, who would later replace him as Ash. The two have also worked together on projects like The Greatest Demon Lord is Reborn as a Typical Nobody, where their characters are narrative counterparts. In 2015, Ramos returned to Mexico to continue his voice acting career and also launched a YouTube channel as part of his "Say Yeah" digital project.
