Yuuki Tai
Description
Yuuki Tai is a Japanese voice actor born on October 6, 1977, in Tokyo, Japan. He is affiliated with the talent agency Remax, having moved there in September 2009 from his previous agency, Genki Project, where he had been since his debut. Tai is a graduate of the voice acting school run by fellow voice actor Kazuhiko Inoue. He comes from a family with a musical background; his father is composer Eijiro Tai. Through his paternal grandfather, he has Vietnamese ancestry.
Tai's career began in the early 2000s, and he quickly became known for voicing a wide range of characters in anime, video games, and drama CDs. Some of his most prominent early roles include Jun'ichi Asakura in the D.C. ~Da Capo~ series, a role he first played in 2003. In 2006, he took on the leading role of Kazuya "Naru" Shibuya in the supernatural mystery series Ghost Hunt. That same year, he voiced the protagonist D'Eon de Beaumont in the historical action anime Le Chevalier D'Eon. Another significant role from this period is Kyōsuke Tsutsumi in the acclaimed visual novel-based anime ef: a tale of memories and its sequel.
Throughout his career, Tai has been a regular presence in various long-running franchises. He voiced Kentaro Nara in the popular comedy School Rumble. In the Inazuma Eleven GO series, he played the recurring character Masaki Kariya. He is also well-known to fans of the Touken Ranbu franchise for voicing two swords, Taroutachi and Souza Samonji, appearing in both the games and the anime adaptations Hanamaru and Touken Ranbu Kai. His more recent anime roles include Ren Miyagi in the 2022 sports series Love All Play, Haruo Satō in Bungo and Alchemist -Gears of Judgement- (2020), and a supporting role in The Journey of Elaina (2020).
Tai has also built a substantial body of work in video games. He is particularly notable within the Super Robot Wars series, where he has had the unique distinction of voicing two different original protagonist characters: Cobray Gordon and Johnny Burnette. His other game credits include Faz in Record of Agarest War 2, Elka in Mugen Souls, and Ai in the Puyo Puyo Tetris series. He has also been the voice of the producer in drama CDs for The Idolmaster franchise.
Within the industry, Tai has frequently collaborated with voice actors Daisuke Kishio and Ken Narita. He was also a member of a short-lived male voice actor unit called Revolver in the mid-2000s.
Beyond his voice work, Tai is widely recognized for his deep and passionate interest in robots and mecha. He is an avid collector of toys and models and occasionally shares his hobby on social media and his own YouTube channel, where he reviews and builds models.
