Michiyo Yanagisawa is a veteran Japanese voice actress and narrator born on July 26, 1960, in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent management firm Aoni Production. Yanagisawa is a graduate of the Department of Theatre Arts at Nihon University's College of Art and is a former member of the theatre company NOISE, which was led by Koharu Kagawa.

Yanagisawa's most enduring and iconic role began in 1988 when she started voicing Currypanman (also known as Curry-Pan Man or Kareepanman) in the long-running television series Soreike! Anpanman. She has continued to voice this character for decades, appearing in the main television series and its numerous accompanying theatrical films, including titles such as Eiga Soreike! Anpanman Fuwafuwa Fuwari to Kumo no Kuni and Soreike! Anpanman: Kirakiraboshi no namida, among many others. In the same franchise, she also provides the voice for the character Baikin no Ko (Mould Kid).

Beyond her extensive work in the Anpanman series, Yanagisawa is well-regarded for her roles in several major mecha anime. In the Gundam franchise, she voiced Elischa Kranskie in Mobile Suit Victory Gundam and later took on the role of Erica Simmons in both Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. Her other significant anime roles include Maa-chan (Kogoro's Mother) in Chimpui, Kei Yamamoto's Mother in Kirin Mukimuki Shimai, the third voice of Kureno Mankichi's Mother in Kiteretsu Daihyakka, Akira Yamaguchi in Hell Teacher Nūbē, and several guest roles in the long-running detective series Detective Conan.

In addition to her work in television and film animation, Yanagisawa has lent her voice to various video games, including the SD Gundam G Generation series and Anpanman: Smile Party. Her talents extend to voice-over work for foreign films and television series dubbed into Japanese, as well as narration for television programs and dramas. Notably, she also performed the voice of LL Onene in the tokusatsu series Gekisou Sentai Carranger. Yanagisawa holds teaching licenses for both junior high school and high school-level Japanese language.
