Shelby Lindley is an American voice actress known for her work in English-language dubs of Japanese anime series and video games. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she began her professional acting career as a child, appearing in theater at the age of nine and in her first film at the age of seven. She started doing voice-over work in her teenage years. Lindley comes from a family with Hollywood roots; her great-aunt was actress Audra Lindley.
Lindley's career in anime encompasses a variety of significant roles. She is recognized for providing the voice of Tsumugi Kotobuki, the gentle keyboardist of the Light Music Club, in the English adaptation of the popular series K-ON!, including its sequels and feature film. In the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha franchise, she voiced two distinct characters in the series Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's: the wheelchair-bound orphan Hayate Yagami and one of her guardians, Shamal. She also voiced Hitomi Shizuki, a classmate of the main characters, in the critically acclaimed series Puella Magi Madoka Magica and its subsequent movies.
