Hina Suguta
Description
Hina Suguta is a Japanese voice actress and singer born on April 17, 1995, in Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. Before entering the entertainment industry, she worked as a nursery school teacher. Her aspiration to become a voice actor was influenced by the anime series Gintama, and her experience with children's interest in anime further motivated her to pursue a career in voice acting for children's programming. She began her training at the Animo Actors Source school in the spring of 2017.
Suguta made her professional debut in 2018, providing the voice for the character Haruka in the mobile game Afterlost, which was later adapted into an anime television series. Following this debut, she became a member of SPR5, a voice actor unit formed within the Afterlost game.
A significant development in her career came in 2020 when she was cast as Tōko Kirigaya, the guitarist of the band Morfonica, as part of the large-scale multimedia franchise BanG Dream!. This role involves not only voice acting in various anime adaptations and the franchise's mobile game, BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!, but also performing as a guitarist in the real-life band's musical activities. Her work as Tōko Kirigaya spans numerous BanG Dream! productions, including the short-form series BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! Pico: Ohmori and BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! Pico Fever!, the television special BanG Dream! Morfonication, and the animated films BanG Dream! FILM LIVE 2nd Stage and BanG Dream! Poppin'Dream!.
Suguta's profile rose considerably with her first leading role as Marin Kitagawa in the 2022 anime television series My Dress-Up Darling. Her performance as the energetic and cosplay-enthusiastic heroine was widely received and brought her international recognition. In 2023, this performance contributed to her receiving the Best New Actor Award at the 17th Seiyu Awards.
Beyond her voice acting work, Suguta has pursued a solo music career. In April 2024, she made her solo artist debut under the record label Nippon Columbia with the digital single "Lavender Blue," released on her birthday. Following this debut, she held her first solo live concert in May 2024 and announced plans to release her first full album in 2025.
In 2023, Suguta transitioned from her longtime agency, Animo Produce, to become affiliated with Tokyo Actor's Consumer's Cooperative Society (Haikyō). Her notable video game roles include Guinaifen in the global hit Honkai: Star Rail. She has also been cast in upcoming anime productions such as Loner Life in Another World, Secrets of the Silent Witch, and the second season of My Dress-Up Darling.
