Julia Blankenburg

Description
Julia Blankenburg is a German actress and voice artist with an extensive career in film, television, and theater, as well as a prolific body of work in dubbing foreign productions into German. Born in Berlin in 1969, she trained at the Fritz-Kirchhoff-Schule in Berlin from 1989 to 1992, which laid the foundation for her professional career. Her early career included engagements at various state and city theaters before she began working as a freelancer.

While Blankenburg is an established on-screen actress with roles in numerous German television series and films, her voice is widely recognized from her extensive dubbing work. She has lent her voice to a vast array of characters in animation and live-action, providing the German voice for many international actors. Her dubbing credits span a wide range of genres and include notable anime series. For example, she voiced the character Kyouka Tsujigai in the 2019 film Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System - Case.1: Tsumi to Bachi, the German-language version of the Psycho-Pass franchise. Another of her anime roles is Fighter in the 2018 German synchronization of the series Bikini Warriors.

Her voice work, however, extends far beyond anime. Blankenburg is a versatile speaker whose credits encompass countless synchronization roles for film and television, voice-over work for documentaries on channels like ARTE, ZDF, Discovery, and Netflix, as well as audio books, radio plays, and video games. This breadth of work demonstrates her range and professionalism as a voice artist.

In addition to her voice and on-screen work, Blankenburg maintains a strong connection to the stage, particularly with the GRIPS Theater in Berlin, a venue she has admired since childhood and where she has performed regularly for many years. Her career is marked by a continuous presence across the major German-language performance mediums, from stage to screen to the recording studio.
