Ayako Shiraishi was a Japanese voice actress born on April 13, 1963, in Oita Prefecture. She began her career in the mid-1980s and was active in the industry until her retirement in March 2002. Shiraishi was known for providing voices for a range of characters in anime television series, original video animations (OVAs), and video games throughout the 1990s.

Her body of work includes several of the roles mentioned. In the OVA Hell Target, she voiced a young Yura Treyanov. She played the character Inaba in the television anime series Alice Tanteikyoku. One of her more prominent roles was Marbet Fingerhat in the television series Mobile Suit Victory Gundam. She also voiced Lamb in New Maple Town Stories and Yvonne in the OVA Spaceship Agga Ruter. In the video game Psychic Force and its related OVA adaptation, she provided the voice for the character Sonia.

Beyond these, Shiraishi had several other notable roles. She was the first voice actress for the recurring character Nurse Joy in the long-running Pokémon anime series, a role she played from 1997 until her retirement. Her other television credits include roles in Sailor Moon, Crayon Shin-chan, and Alice SOS, where she also performed a theme song. In the seminal OVA Gunbuster, she voiced the characters Linda Yamamoto and a female operator. Shiraishi announced her retirement from the voice acting industry in 2002, after which she returned to her hometown. Following her departure, several of her roles were taken over by other actresses; for example, Kimura Akiko succeeded her as Marbet Fingerhat in later video game appearances.
