Rika Komatsu

Description
Rika Komatsu is a Japanese voice actress and singer affiliated with the talent management firm Aoni Production. She was born on February 25 in Kochi Prefecture, Japan. Her interest in becoming a voice actress was sparked in her childhood by the television anime Heidi, Girl of the Alps. Mistakenly believing the character Heidi was a real person, she was inspired by the idea that she could become Heidi herself, which led her to pursue a career in voice acting. She is a graduate of the 12th class of the Aoni Juku voice training school in Osaka.

Komatsu's career began in the 1990s, with some of her earliest roles including minor parts in series like Hell Teacher Nūbē and GeGeGe no Kitaro. She quickly became known for her distinctive, slightly husky voice, which she has used to portray a wide variety of characters, ranging from energetic young boys to fragile and delicate girls. Her ability to seamlessly transition between these types of roles has been a hallmark of her long career.

Throughout her extensive career, Komatsu has built an impressive list of credits in both anime and video games. Some of her most recognized anime roles include Bun in Kirby: Right Back At Ya!, Kintarou Sakata in Prince Mackaroo, and Chabo and Marie in One Piece. She also voiced Kenta in the war drama Aoi Hitomi no Onna no Ko no Ohanashi and Emma Branton in the adventure series Nessa no Ha-ō Gandalla. Other notable performances include Kotaro in Cyborg Kuro-chan, the butler Zakenna in Futari wa Pretty Cure, Reiya Ooshima in Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok, and Ashura Tōkaiji in Kuromajyo-san ga Tōru!!. In the series On-chan, she voiced both the character Oh-chan and On-chan's mother. Her work extended into the 2010s with roles such as the character Kan-pei Gundam in SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors.

In addition to her anime work, Rika Komatsu is highly accomplished in the field of video games. Her most prominent and enduring role is that of Diaochan in Koei Tecmo's popular Dynasty Warriors series and its various spin-offs, including the Warriors Orochi series. She has voiced this character consistently for many years across numerous installments. Other significant game credits include Louise Fallsmeyer and Luciaus in the Growlanser series, Loe in Riviera: The Promised Land, and Lù and Nap in the Summon Night series.

Beyond voice acting, Komatsu is also a singer. She performed the opening theme song My Sweet Heart for the anime Tokyo Mew Mew and has sung various character songs for anime and games. She was also part of a voice actress unit called Yukaririka with her contemporary Yukari Hikida. Together, they engaged in activities beyond standard voice work, such as singing and conducting picture book reading sessions. Her skills also include proficiency in kendo and singing, and she is fluent in the Tosa and Kansai dialects.
