Maurizio Reti is an accomplished Italian voice actor and dubbing director, primarily recognized for his extensive work in the Italian-language adaptations of Japanese anime. Born Carmelo Privitera on March 9, 1951, in Rome, Italy, he has built a prolific career spanning several decades, lending his voice to a wide array of characters in animation and live-action works.

His voice can be heard in numerous iconic and long-running anime series. Among his many roles, he is known for voicing the character Iwaki and Taro Yamada in Dokaben, and Speed Racer in the titular series Speed Racer. He has contributed to several entries in the Dragon Ball Z franchise, providing voices for Cooler in the first edition dubs of Cooler's Revenge and The Return of Cooler, as well as voicing Zeiun in Lord Slug and a Saiyan in Bardock - The Father of Goku. His film work includes the role of Saran October in Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack and, as noted by the user, the narrator for Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz Special Edition. He also voiced Father in the Violence Jack OVA series.

In addition to his work in anime, Reti has been active in dubbing live-action films, including roles in the Italian versions of Battle Royale, The Ring, and Shin Godzilla. He is frequently cast in paternal roles. Beyond acting, Maurizio Reti has also contributed to the industry as a dubbing director, overseeing the Italian dialogue for series such as Danbōru Senki W, LBX, and Toradora!.

A notable recent achievement is his role as the voice of the father in the Italian dub of the critically acclaimed 2018 film Mirai. Directed by Mamoru Hosoda, Mirai was the first non-Studio Ghibli anime film to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. In Mirai, Reti voices the father character, a role originated in Japanese by Gen Hoshino. His participation, alongside other prominent Italian voice actors, was highlighted at a special event at the Romics comics and film festival in October 2018, where the cast and dubbing director Maria Pia Di Meo discussed their work on the film.
