Miori Takimoto

Miori Takimoto is a Japanese actress and former singer who was born on October 16, 1991, in Tottori Prefecture, Japan. She began her career in the entertainment industry as a member of the pop idol group SweetS, which debuted in 2003 under the Avex label. Following the group's disbandment in 2006, she transitioned to acting and signed with the talent agency Stardust Promotion in 2008.

Takimoto's acting career gained momentum when she was cast as the女主角 in the 2010 NHK morning drama series Teppan, a role she won through an audition process involving over fourteen hundred applicants. This was followed by leading roles in television dramas such as the 2011 series Ikemen desu ne, a performance for which she received the Best Actress award at the 15th Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix. Her live-action credits also include prominent roles in the 2012 television series GTO and the 2013 horror film Sadako 3D 2.

In addition to her extensive live-action work, Takimoto has contributed her voice to animated projects. Her most notable voice role is in the 2013 Studio Ghibli animated film The Wind Rises, directed by Hayao Miyazaki, in which she voiced the character Naoko Satomi. In 2015, she voiced the character Nero in the animated comedy film Tensai Bakavon ~Yomigaeru Flanders no Inu~, a parody of the classic story The Dog of Flanders. She also provided the Japanese voice for the character Jody Hopper in the 2015 anime television series Magic Kaito 1412.

Beyond acting, Takimoto has also pursued music as the lead vocalist for the rock band Lagoon, which she joined in 2014. For her performance in Teppan, she was awarded a Special Award at the 68th Television Drama Academy Awards.
