Sogabe's most internationally recognized work is Amaenaide yo!!, which he both wrote and illustrated. The manga was serialized in Wani Books' Comic Gum magazine from March 25, 2004, to February 24, 2007, and compiled into seven volumes. Its success led to an anime adaptation produced by Studio Deen, which first aired in Japan on the AT-X satellite channel from July to September 2005. A second anime season, Amaenaide yo!! Katsu!!, followed from January to March 2006. A sequel manga series titled Amaenaide yo!! MS, written by Bohemian K and illustrated by Sogabe, was serialized from July 2007 to August 2009.

In the early 2000s, Sogabe also worked under the pen name Haneda Toshinori, under which he created adult manga including Very Sweet Portion and Yell!. His artistic style is characterized by the depiction of female characters with large eyes and round faces.

While not as internationally renowned as some of his peers, Sogabe has maintained a consistent presence in the Japanese manga industry, working across seinen publications. His work is notable for its blend of comedy, supernatural elements, and fan service, with Ah My Buddha standing as a representative title of the mid-2000s anime comedy genre. His long-running series Yankee JK Kuzuhana-chan demonstrates his continued activity and popularity with readers in Japan.
