Marisa Marco, born María Luisa Marco Aguirrebeña on March 15, 1946, in Logroño, Spain, was a prolific Spanish voice actress whose career spanned several decades. She passed away on June 17, 2017. Her voice became familiar to multiple generations of Spanish viewers through her extensive work dubbing anime series and films, as well as numerous live-action television shows.

Marco began her career in radio before transitioning to dubbing at the age of 28. One of her earliest and most iconic roles was taking over the voice of the title character in the anime series Heidi, Girl of the Alps from episode 20 onward, a role that cemented her place in Spanish popular culture. Throughout the 1970s, she became a recognisable voice in many television series dubbed for a Spanish audience.

Her contributions to the world of anime are extensive and varied. Among her many roles, she voiced Jam in the series Watt Poe to Bokura no Ohanashi and Tommy Bangs in Little Women II Jo's Boys. She was the voice of the titular squirrel in Bannertail: The Story of Gray Squirrel, portrayed Tika's Mother in Majokko Tickle, and took on the role of the sky pirate Dora in Hayao Miyazaki's acclaimed film Castle in the Sky. In the City Hunter franchise, she was a recurring presence as Saeko Nogami, including in the special City Hunter: Death of the Vicious Criminal Ryo Saeba. For a generation of Pokémon fans in Spain, she was the voice of Delia Ketchum, the mother of protagonist Ash Ketchum, a role she performed from the series' early episodes into its sixteenth season. She also lent her voice to numerous other characters in the Pokémon franchise and voiced characters in other major anime such as Sailor Moon, Zatch Bell!, and Future Boy Conan.

In addition to her on-screen roles, Marco also worked extensively behind the scenes as a dubbing director and adapter, contributing to the Spanish dubs for various City Hunter projects, Rumiko Takahashi Anthology, and Zatch Bell!.

Her work was not limited to animation. Marco was equally well-known for dubbing characters in popular live-action series, including Mary Ingalls in Little House on the Prairie, Jo in Man About the House, Lilith Sternin in Cheers, Cathy Garson in Beverly Hills, 90210, Berta in Two and a Half Men, and Yrsa in Sense8. She also voiced characters in several Studio Ghibli films, such as Oroku in Pom Poko. Her final work included a role in the series Mamá contra corriente. Marisa Marco left behind a rich legacy as one of Spain's most beloved and respected voice actresses.
