Mie Suzuki is a veteran Japanese voice actress and kōdan-shi, a performer of traditional Japanese narrative arts. Born on June 20, 1958, in Osaka, Japan, she began her career in 1981 and has remained active for over four decades. She is also known by her birth name, Mieko Suzuki, and her stage name Teiyū Ichiryūsai, which she adopted later in her career.
In her early career under the name Mie Suzuki, she took on a wide variety of roles, demonstrating her range by voicing young boys, creatures, and supporting characters. Among these early credits is the role of Bat, the young orphaned sidekick to the protagonist, in the classic 1984 television series Fist of the North Star. She also voiced the character Mocha in the 1991 original video animation Ozanari Dungeon: Kaze no Tou. Her filmography from this period includes the role of Beetle Mama in the 1997 theatrical film Cutey Honey Flash.
Mie Suzuki is perhaps best known for her long-running portrayals of beloved child characters in some of Japan's most iconic anime series.
