Kevin Hatcher

Description
Kevin Hatcher is an American voice actor known for his work in English-language dubs of anime series and original video animations, primarily during the early to mid-2000s. His career is closely associated with Bang Zoom! Entertainment, a Los Angeles-based voice production company responsible for numerous English adaptations of Japanese anime.

Hatcher's filmography includes several prominent roles in anime OVAs and series from this period. He provided the voice for Eiri Kurahashi, the protagonist of the supernatural horror OVA Le Portrait de Petite Cossette. In this 2004 English adaptation produced by Geneon Entertainment, Hatcher voiced the art student who becomes obsessed with the mysterious girl he sees in a piece of antique glassware. That same year, he was cast in the Media Blasters English dub of the classic comedy OVA Here Is Greenwood. In this production, he voiced Kazuya Hasukawa, a new student dealing with unrequited love and the eccentric residents of his dormitory, Greenwood.

Another of Hatcher's significant roles was as Kazuki Makabe in the mecha anime series Fafner. In this series, he voiced the main protagonist, a young boy chosen to pilot a giant robot to protect his island home from alien invaders. His work on Fafner is notable as he was credited under the pseudonym Johnny Yong Bosch, a name under which he would later become widely known for a vast array of other voice acting roles.

His body of work reveals recurring collaborations with a specific group of voice actors and directors in the anime dubbing industry. In productions such as Le Portrait de Petite Cossette, Here Is Greenwood, and Fafner, he frequently worked alongside fellow voice actors including Michelle Ruff, Wendee Lee, Julie Ann Taylor, and Lex Lang, who also served as a voice director on Fafner. These consistent pairings highlight the common practice of using a regular pool of talent for English dubs produced in Los Angeles during that era.
