Seiko Nakano is a former Japanese voice actress born on August 2, 1952, in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. She was a first-generation student at the Toei Audio Talent School and began her career in the mid-1970s. During her active years, she was affiliated with the talent agencies Aoni Production and 81 Produce. Nakano retired from the voice acting industry in the early 1990s.

Nakano is perhaps best known for her long-running role as Gatchan in the various adaptations of the Dr. Slump franchise. She voiced the character in the original. Slump & Arale-chan and in numerous subsequent theatrical films. These films included Dr. Slump & Arale-chan: Hello! Wonder Island, Dr. Slump: Hoyoyo! Space Adventure, Dr. Slump & Arale-chan: Hoyoyo! The Great Race Around the World, Dr. Slump & Arale-chan: Hoyoyo! The Secret of Nanaba Castle, and Dr. Slump & Arale-chan: Hoyoyo! The City of Dreams, Mechapolis. Her portrayal of Gatchan became one of her signature and most frequent roles.

Her career also encompassed a wide range of other notable characters in anime of the 1980s. She played Kaori Hanazono in the 1983 series Stop!! Hibari-kun! and the role of Peruru in the Cream Lemon series. She voiced Boy Ryota in the historical education program Manga Nihonshi. Additional prominent roles include Pino Pino in Magical Angel Creamy Mami, Eiko Nakaoka in the acclaimed film Barefoot Gen, and Jessie in A Little Princess Sara. She also made guest appearances in major series such as Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya.

Throughout her career, Nakano was a consistent presence in the anime industry, frequently collaborating with directors like西尾大介 and望月智充, and working alongside fellow voice actors such as井上和彦 and土井美加 on multiple projects. Her body of work, which includes contributions to over twenty films and television series, solidifies her place as a voice actor who helped define the sound of anime during the 1980s.
