Edie Mirman
Description
Edie Mirman is an American voice actress with a career spanning several decades, known for her extensive work in English dubs of anime and animated series. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, and has also been credited under the names Penny Sweet and Edie S. Mirman. Her debut role in anime was as Clarissa "Chris" MacDougal in the 1984 film Lensman. Mirman is perhaps most widely recognized for her portrayal of the characters Gatomon, Angewomon, and their associated forms in the Digimon franchise, including the television series Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02, as well as several films like Digimon: The Movie. Another significant role came with her work on Robotech, where she voiced the characters Miriya Parina Sterling and Nova Satori. She later reprised a version of the former as Maia Sterling in Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles. During the 1980s and 1990s, Mirman was a prominent voice for Streamline Pictures, providing voices for numerous dubbed productions. Among these was her role as the recurring character Fujiko Mine in various Lupin III releases, including The Castle of Cagliostro and Mystery of Mamo. Her work with this studio also included the role of Tomomi Murashita in the influential cyberpunk OVA Megazone 23 and Ursula and Barsa in the Streamline dub of Kiki's Delivery Service. In the series Space Pirate Captain Harlock, she voiced the character Kayla "Kay" Kerry, and also took on the role of Headmistress Marano in the same series. In the 1970 anime series The Adventures of Hutch the Honeybee, she voiced the Honeybee Queen in a later English language version. Her other notable credits from this era include Lamika in Vampire Hunter D, Luna in Casshan: Robot Hunter, and Princess Rune Venus in El Hazard: The Magnificent World. Beyond her iconic anime roles, Mirman has worked extensively in ADR and looping, owning a post-production company, Edie's Gourmet Looping. She has provided additional voices for numerous major animated films, including Despicable Me, Mulan, Epic, ParaNorman, and The Boss Baby, for which she voiced the character Big Boss Baby. Her voice can also be heard in video games, such as Star Wars: Masters of Teräs Käsi and the CSI game series. Mirman's long and varied career demonstrates a consistent presence in the voice acting industry, contributing to many beloved projects for English-speaking audiences.
