Gino Pagnani was an Italian actor and voice actor, born Luigi Pagnani Fusconi in Rome on July 31, 1927. He passed away on April 10, 2010, at the age of 82. His career in the entertainment industry spanned from 1968 to 1991.
Pagnani is primarily remembered for his extensive work as a voice actor in the Italian dubbing of numerous anime and animated series, particularly during the 1970s and 1980s. His voice became familiar to Italian audiences through a wide array of characters. Among his most prominent roles were Bem in the series Yōkai Ningen Bem and Saruta in the film Phoenix 2772 - Space Firebird. He also lent his voice to the character Flip in both Maya the Bee and The New Adventures of Maya the Honeybee.
Pagnani was particularly prolific in the anime series Vicke the Little Viking, voicing multiple characters including Gorm, Snorre, Ulme, and Urobe, as well as serving as the narrator for the series. His other notable voice roles in anime included Nonno in A Dog of Flanders and Nonno in Future Boy Conan, Volpe in Kashi no Ki Mokku and Pinocchio: The Series, the Scarecrow (Spaventapasseri) in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and Signor Pepperpot in Mrs. Pepperpot. His repertoire also extended to roles in UFO Robo Grendizer, Lupin the 3rd, and Crusher Joe: The Movie, among many others.
