Kazue Tagami

Kazue Tagami was a Japanese actress and former voice actor, born on March 18, 1936. She was also known by the stage name Kazue Inoue. Her career included both live-action film appearances, such as in Jun'ai monogatari and Onna bakari no yoru, and significant voice work in anime during the 1960s and 1970s.

Tagami's voice acting career is closely associated with several classic anime series of the era. Among her notable roles was Chibita in the 1966 television series Osomatsu-kun. She also provided the voice for Jim Hawkins in the 1965 special New Treasure Island. Her work extended to playing the title character Kumu Kumu in the 1975 series Wanpaku Omukashi Kumu Kumu. Additionally, she was part of the cast for Astro Boy, temporarily voicing the iconic role of Atom as a substitute for Mari Shimizu. Her filmography also includes a role in the 1963 series Ken the Wolf Boy.

Tagami was part of a family deeply involved in the entertainment industry. She was married to Akihisa Kanai, a producer for the theater company Youth House. Their daughter, Mika Kanai, also became a well-known voice actor. Tagami's active period as a voice actor was not extensive, and she retired from the profession around 1977. In her later years, she ran a cafe named Atelier Cocorico in the Okubo area of Tokyo.
