Adam McArthur is an American voice actor and martial artist based in Los Angeles, California. He is widely recognized for his extensive work in anime dubbing, providing the English voices for leading characters in several popular series.
McArthur grew up in Pinole, California, and developed a strong background in martial arts from a young age, specializing in Wushu kung fu and judo. He was an All Around Grand Champion at a major tournament in 2003 and was the featured subject of two PBS documentaries related to his martial arts practice, including one where he traveled to China to perform at the Shaolin Temple. He graduated from Pepperdine University in 2005 with a degree in Acting and Television Production and has performed with improv groups in Los Angeles. His first major role in animation was voicing Marco Diaz in the Disney XD series Star vs. the Forces of Evil, a part that brought him significant recognition.
McArthur's career in anime dubbing expanded considerably starting in 2020. He voices the protagonist Yuji Itadori in the hugely popular series Jujutsu Kaisen. His other prominent anime roles include Chifuyu Matsuno in Tokyo Revengers, the dual role of Ricky and Patrick in Shadows House, Saigiku Jouno in Bungo Stray Dogs, Taiyo Tsukuba in The Orbital Children, Rōma Kamogawa in the film Goodbye, Don Glees!, Kyle Salutania in The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent, and Koku Hanabata (also known as Trumpet) in My Hero Academia.
